Australia open with big win against Zimbabwe
Ponting: It was a good start for us. Zimbabwe spinners rather annoying and it was difficult to go there. However, around half rose. We will try to keep windows off until the middle and ensure that negotiated the difficult moments of the spinners. The wicket played really well. Fortunately, we wickets in hand and led us to a good total. The players did well. Tait well and that is an advantage for us. KREJZA discomfort right in the middle and I'm happy with the form. Watson: It was a good day today. It took me awhile to get there. Zimbabwe alter the spinners well with the new ball. There will be many of the spinners to use against us. The ball does not rotate so much in this window. This game was good practice to turn as the tournament progresses.

Chigumbura: Australia is limited to less than 270, but we need to strengthen our club. I was happy with the bowlers, but the absence of the fifth bowler to hurt us. It was a very good wicket to bat on. We have to win against Canada.
Zimbabwe started well with Coventry playing some sweet shots, but once it was drawn by Lee and collapsed hoses. Johnson had a quick stop short and therefore always going to be a difficult task and it showed in the final. Cremer has played well with Utsey, but it is only delaying the inevitable.
